PMCO IS HIRING A HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER IN THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY IN KANKAKEE, IL!

Salary: Up to $100,000 + annual bonus (10% target, 15% max)
Shift: Full-time, may require occasional evening/weekend hours
Location: Kankakee, IL

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Professional certifications through SHRM or HRCI are a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • 5+ years in HR management, preferably in a manufacturing setting
  • Union experience strongly preferred; must be able to work effectively in a unionized environment
  • Strong investigation experience required with the ability to manage sensitive employee relations issues
  • Solid knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Experience with performance management and full-cycle talent acquisition
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust to business needs quickly
  • Proficient in MS Office; AS400 experience preferred
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% overnight
  • Team-oriented with a hands-on, proactive approach
Responsibilities
  • Act as a strategic partner to the plant management team and liaison between floor staff and leadership
  • Manage all aspects of HR including employee relations, compliance, talent acquisition, onboarding, and performance management
  • Foster a collaborative working relationship with the plant’s active union while maintaining a strong partnership with leadership
  • Lead investigations with thorough documentation, follow-up, and resolution
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws as well as internal policies
  • Administer the Affirmative Action Plan, and manage FMLA, Workers’ Comp, and other leave programs
  • Support succession planning, onboarding, and organizational development initiatives
  • Coordinate training and development programs in collaboration with Corporate HR
  • Perform occasional clerical HR duties; note that this position does not handle payroll
  • Participate in EHS, WCP, and Quality Teams; support employee engagement and communication efforts
