Description

Boutique hotel located in the Hudson Valley is currently looking for an experienced Human Resource Generalist/Executive Assistant to manage and execute all Human Resources functions for the hotel, under the direction of the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Complete new hire on-boarding process for all new employees, following all company, state and federal guidelines. Including the management of background checks and drug screening procedures. Drafting and posting of all available open positions, tracking resumes and forwarding qualified applicants to the appropriate department executives for review.
  • Management of employee benefit enrollments, including open enrollment, completing employee benefit changes and tracking new hire eligibly, while following all company, state and federal guidelines for employee medical benefit enrollments and COBRA elections.
  • Weekly payroll administration, ensuring all changes, liens, deductions etc. are entered each payroll cycle and ensuring payroll is processed properly and on time each cycle.
  • Ensuring all workers compensation, unemployment insurance, disability, FMLA, hotel liability and employment verification request paperwork is completed and processed in a timely manner and according to state and federal guidelines.
  • Support, advice and assist in training managers on HR issues, regulations and HR responsibilities including investigating and resolving complaints and proper administration of the corrective action process under the guidance of the Director of Operations.
  • Maintaining an organized filing system for all HR documents.
  • Managing employee Star Award program and ceremony monthly.
  • Arranging all travel arrangements and meetings for the Director of Operations.
  • Keeping up to date on all new NYS employment laws and regulations.
  • Keeping updated employee census information and accurate spread sheets for benefit enrollments, active and non active employees, background checks etc., weekly HR reporting to the Director of Operations and the Managing General Partner.
  • Assisting the Director of Operations with administrative actions and employee engagement events.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources and or PHR certification preferred
  • 3 years of HR experience preferably in the hospitality field
  • Knowledge and understanding of Federal, State and Local legislation regarding personnel and labor laws
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to pass drug screening
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • A successful candidate will be a self starter with a positive attitude who enjoys a fast paced and rewarding work environment
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
