We’re looking for an HR Officer to join us at MC Academy - Liverpool! Experience working with teams in other locations is a plus, as you’ll oversee our Manchester school.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As our HR Officer, you’ll report directly to the school’s CEO This is an exciting opportunity where you’ll work closely with MC Academy’s management team, assisting with recruitment, keeping all HR files and documentation up to date, and gathering and submitting our part-time employees’ timesheets for payroll each month (amongst other tasks!).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Prior HR administration experience, or general administration experience is a plus.
  • Experience working within a student support/ education setting is a plus

Responsibilities
  • Maintain staff files to a high quality, ensuring that all documents are up to date.
  • Ensure SCR is up to date at all times.
  • Ensure all information about employees on both the online portal, Sharepoint, and as a hard copy in the files are kept up to date at all times.
  • Ensure right to work checks are regularly carried out.
  • Ensure that all members of staff have a valid Enhanced DBS check at the start of their employment.
  • Ensure all staff absences are recorded, on Avensure PeopleCloud, and that TOIL is recorded and signed off by management.
  • Ensure that all members of staff have two or more references at the start of their employment, and that calls are made to referees.
  • Be responsible for submitting timesheets on a monthly basis. Ensure all absences, new starters, leavers, and any changes are submitted to our external accountants for payroll.
  • Liaise with external accountant firm and legal team.
  • Create and issue contracts for all members of staff, and ensure policies are up to date.
  • Ensure Employee Handbook is kept up to date, liaise with Legal Documentation team, and release yearly updates to employees.
  • Report lateness/absences to the relevant manager.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance of employment law.
  • Manage the HR inbox, answering or filtering queries as appropriate.
  • Create job adverts and job descriptions. Ensure JDs are kept up to date with all staff, as the needs of the business change.
  • To support the management teams in recruitment activity and to ensure all administration processes are seamless in order to enhance candidate experience upon entry to the business. This includes short-listing candidates, and appearing in interviews with line managers.
  • Be a bridge between MC Academy employees and management.
  • Take Safer Recruitment course upon joining MC Academy and ensure safer recruitment is practiced at all times.
  • Be flexible in the job role to meet business demands.
