Description

Senatobia Healthcare & Rehab is currently recruiting for a HR / Payroll Director at our long term care facility in Senatobia, Mississippi. This is for an experienced, advanced level HR/Payroll superstar. This role is not for an entry-level HR/payroll clerk position.

Senatobia Healthcare & Rehab has been owned and operated since 1978 by the same founding family. The facility offers short term rehabilitation services including physical, speech and occupational therapy as well as long term care . This is accomplished in a comfortable, homelike environment where our residents, families and staff are able to experience a family type atmosphere.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • Must have, as a minimum, three (3) years of experience with demonstrated success and in-depth working knowledge in human resource management.
  • Knowledgeable of the laws, regulations, and guidelines concerning personnel administration in post-acute care settings.
  • Must have extensive experience with payroll and time management software systems.
  • This is a process-oriented organization. You must be able to implement and monitor multiple daily clinical best practices to ensure overall compliance.
  • HRIS, HRCI, SHRM certification is a plus!

Responsibilities
  • Participates in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing the HR and Payroll department.
  • Completion of biweekly payroll functions for the center.
  • Acts as a financial steward for the center and analyzes payroll and documents to ensure PTO requests, bonuses, salaries, etc. are appropriate and meet facility policy and standard to be paid.
  • Completes OSHA 300 log.
  • Completes PBJ (Payroll Based Journal) reporting.
  • Maintains all HR files and payroll files and keeps records organized.
  • Maintains written job descriptions and performance evaluations for each staff position in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Actively participates in the recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and retention of center employees.
  • Checks applications and references for prospective employees and arranges for interviews as indicated.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent employee information in accordance with the Privacy Act, as well as the facility’s established policies governing the release of information.
  • Ensures compliance with current federal and state employment regulations regarding wages, overtime, work hours, workman’s compensations, etc.
  • Ensures compliance with hiring/discharge policies and procedures.
  • Orients new personnel to the facility and explains personnel policies, procedures, payroll procedures, grievance procedures, etc. as established in the facility’s operational policies and procedures.
  • Makes written and oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator concerning personnel needs, problems areas, etc., as necessary or appropriate.
  • Conducts employee fingerprint and background checks in accordance with facility policy.
  • Maintains attendance records and records of counseling, warning, and other disciplinary action taken for employees.
  • Conducts exit interviews and ensures information is placed in the employee’s personnel records.
  • Creates and maintains an atmosphere of positivity, professional behavior, warmth, and calm environment throughout the facility.
  • Participates in the planning of employee recognition events.
  • Completes weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as needed.
  • Provides center response and any required documentation to state agencies, unemployment claims, EEOC, or other legal requests that may arise.
  • Coordinates workers compensation claims and follow-up as needed.
  • Coordinates employee benefits and insurance.
  • Assists the Administrator in various other duties as needed.
  • Must be able to work independently on various projects and multi-task efficiently.
