Description:
KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Review, analyze, audit and document business services related processes and procedures, including budget control and variance analysis
Research, recommend, design and implement technological solutions to HRP systems and processes
Support and/or lead various Business projects
Liaise with various departments and external vendors as needed to gain full understanding of gaps between departments, and to determine the optimal solution for improvement
Provide recommendations to users, managers, and business executives regarding internal and confidential controls and processes for efficiency
Monitor and track special project work plans, review issues, clear roadblocks and provide overall support to both departments and other personnel or external vendors involved
Manage interfaces and querying reports as required
Leverage data to drive smart decisions and optimize processes
Implement reports and dashboards using reporting software
Coach and train department staff on HRP related issues and assist with reports
Assist in HRP system changes including development of test scripts, evaluation and communication to end users, and maximize business system potential
Create or oversee required documents for any approved changes to processes
Participate in and/or lead meetings and serve on committees as required
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Three year Diploma or university degree in a relevant field
Minimum five years HRP software experience
Minimum five years school board or public sector experience
Interpersonal communication skills to provide and clarify information and/or data, respond to inquiries and requests from Board personnel using tact, diplomacy and discretion, along with the ability to build working relationships
Strong knowledge of financial / payroll / HR transaction business processes
Good understanding of FTE structures at the school board and the ability to produce reports, provide recommendations on process improvements
Demonstrated hands-on practical knowledge of accounting, payroll and/or human resources software and comfortable with learning new technologies
Knowledge of report building tools
Advanced proficiency with Excel, other MS office applications and Google Suite applications
Ability to take initiative and manage multiple conflicting priorities
Proficiency with reporting software and a strong understanding of databases and SQL
Flexible and adaptable when working as part of a team, but also able to work independently
Strong analytical, research, reasoning, problem-solving and decision-making skills
An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
