Description

About the role

Working alongside our managers and supervisors, you’ll provide day-to-day HR administration and coordination support across the employee lifecycle. You’ll help ensure our people processes are efficient, accurate and consistent, while providing a friendly and professional point of contact for employees and managers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating recruitment activities, including advertising vacancies, arranging interviews, communicating with candidates and assisting with employment documentation.
  • Supporting new employee onboarding and induction, ensuring all relevant paperwork and systems are completed accurately.
  • Maintaining employee records and HR systems, ensuring information is accurate, up to date and confidential.
  • Assisting with the preparation of employment documentation, letters, variations and other HR correspondence.
  • Responding to routine HR enquiries and directing more complex matters to the appropriate person.
  • Providing administrative support for performance management and employee relations processes.
  • Assisting with HR reporting, compliance requirements, policies and procedures, and general HR projects as required.

This is a fixed-term part-time position to cover parental leave, with negotiable hours of work (20-25 hours per week) to fit your lifestyle and enhance your work/life balance. It offers an opportunity to gain broad HR experience while making a practical contribution to a team that supports essential hospital services.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in an administrative, coordination or HR support role.
  • A good understanding of employment practices and processes in New Zealand.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, with a friendly and approachable manner.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and follow through on tasks.
  • A high level of discretion and an understanding of the importance of confidentiality when dealing with employee information.
  • A positive, adaptable and can-do attitude, with a willingness to pitch in and support the wider team.
  • An interest in HR and employment processes; previous HR administration experience would be an advantage.
