Program Background About the Solomon Islands Australia Partnership for Health The Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) is committed to delivering quality healthcare services to the people of Solomon Islands. A robust, efficient, and strategic Human Resources (HR) function is critical to achieving this mission, ensuring the right health workforce is in the right place with the right skills. Currently, the MHMS needs to finalise the HR Strategy, develop a staff database, update staff records and develop a training plan. This Short-Term Assignment (STA) aims to provide dedicated, expert capacity to address these immediate priorities, strengthen systems, and build the HR team's internal capacity to ensure sustainable improvements. This will be achieved by delivering specific, measurable outputs that address critical gaps Click on the link or copy paste it to access the full Terms of Reference for this position: https://tinyurl.com/2763rkxj About You You should meet the following requirements: Qualifications and Experience · Education: Advanced degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree with extensive additional experience may be accepted. Experience: · Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in human resources management. · Proven experience working within or closely with government ministries, preferably in the health or public sector. · Demonstrated expertise in HR policy development, review, and implementation. · Strong practical experience in recruitment, staff records management, and HR administration. · Experience in capacity building and mentoring national staff. Skills and Competencies: · In-depth knowledge of the Public Service Commission rules and labour laws. · Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills. · High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). · Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills. · Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and under pressure. · Discretion and a high level of integrity in handling confidential information.
