We are seeking a Human Resources Specialist to support recruitment, employee relations, HR administration, and compliance while helping deliver an exceptional employee experience.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Specialist provides operational HR support across the organization by coordinating recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, benefits, payroll support, and compliance with Ontario employment legislation. The successful candidate will work closely with management and employees to ensure HR processes are efficient, compliant, and employee-focused.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities.
  • Prepare and post job advertisements on recruitment platforms.
  • Screen resumes and coordinate interviews.
  • Conduct reference and employment verification checks.
  • Prepare employment offers and onboarding documentation.
  • Coordinate orientation programs for new employees.

Employee Relations

  • Respond to employee HR inquiries and provide day-to-day HR support.
  • Assist managers with employee relations matters and performance management.
  • Support workplace investigations and maintain confidential documentation.
  • Promote employee engagement initiatives and workplace culture.

HR Administration

  • Maintain employee personnel files and records.
  • Prepare employment letters, confirmations, and HR correspondence.
  • Ensure accurate record retention and document management.
  • Update employee information while maintaining confidentiality.

Payroll, Benefits & Leave Administration

  • Coordinate payroll changes, including new hires and terminations.
  • Administer employee benefit enrollments and changes.
  • Track vacation, sick leave, and statutory leave balances.
  • Respond to employee benefits inquiries.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable Ontario legislation, including:
  • Employment Standards Act (ESA)
  • Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
  • Ontario Human Rights Code
  • Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
  • Workplace Safety and Insurance Act (WSIA)
  • Assist with HR policy implementation and updates.
  • Support workplace health and safety initiatives.

Training & Reporting

  • Coordinate employee training and development activities.
  • Maintain training records and compliance documentation.
  • Prepare HR reports and workforce metrics.
  • Support continuous improvement of HR processes.
