We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Human Resources Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is essential to various HR functions, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and supporting our workforce through effective human capital management strategies. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills to foster positive employee relations.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior HR Specialist provides advanced support in all areas of Human Resources, including employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, performance management, and talent development. This role partners closely with managers and employees to ensure HR policies and fosters a positive workplace culture.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, Paychex experience preferred and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues; provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, conflict resolution, and performance improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA, COBRA, etc.).
  • Administer and oversee benefit programs, leaves of absence, and workers’ compensation cases.
  • Support talent acquisition efforts by partnering with hiring managers, conducting interviews, and advising on best practices.
  • Assist with performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, evaluations, and corrective action.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on HR policies, compliance, and leadership skills.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and prepare HR reports for management.
  • Partner with payroll/finance on HRIS data, compensation adjustments, and reporting.
  • Lead or support special HR projects such as engagement initiatives and policy updates.
