QIX Consulting is partnering with a large, highly regarded global organisation to find an experienced Human Resources Consultant to join an established and genuinely fantastic People & Culture team.

This is a hands-on HR role for someone who likes being close to the business. You'll work directly with managers and employees, help unpack workplace issues, investigate what's happened, interpret policy and legislation, coach leaders and find practical solutions.

What you'll be doing

You'll become a trusted HR contact for managers and employees across a large and diverse operational workforce.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Managing individual HR matters from initial enquiry through to resolution
• Investigating workplace concerns and incidents, gathering information and establishing the facts
• Advising managers on performance, conduct, attendance and workplace matters
• Coaching leaders through challenging conversations and people decisions
• Interpreting HR policies, procedures, Modern Awards and employment legislation
• Working with multiple stakeholders to understand issues and determine practical solutions
• Supporting organisational change and broader people initiatives
• Ensuring appropriate process, documentation and procedural fairness
• Identifying recurring workforce issues and helping managers address them proactively
• Partnering with the broader People & Culture team and specialist HR functions

We're looking for a strong HR practitioner who can confidently pick up a people issue, ask the right questions, understand the context and work with stakeholders to get it resolved.

What we're looking for

You could currently be an HR Consultant, Senior HR Advisor, HR Advisor, HR Generalist or HR Business Partner — we're much more interested in what you've actually been doing than your job title.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Solid generalist HR experience within a large, fast-paced or operational environment
• Exposure to supporting frontline employees and operational managers
• Strong investigation, problem-solving and fact-finding capability
• Confidence interpreting policies, employment legislation and workplace requirements
• Experience coaching managers through employee and performance matters
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the confidence to deal with different personalities
• The ability to juggle multiple matters and competing priorities
• Sound judgement, curiosity and a practical approach to solving problems
• A relevant HR, Business or related tertiary qualification

Experience within facilities, property, construction, engineering, transport, logistics, manufacturing or another operationally focused industry would be highly regarded — but it's certainly not essential.
