Description
This position is located within the Division of Policy at Ohio’s Department of Children and Youth. This position will assist with implementation of early care and education policy. Specific duties of this position may include: Create and revise Ohio Administrative Code as it relates to early care and education programs rules, which could include publicly funded child care eligibility, early care and education licensing and Step Up To Quality (SUTQ). Create and revise forms used for early care and education eligibility and programs. Collaborates within all areas of the Department of Children and Youth on coordinating and improving early care and education programs. Provides consultative expertise as needed regarding system design and development including but not limited to the Ohio Benefits, Time Attendance and Payment (TAP) systems, and the Ohio Child Licensing and Quality System (OCLQS). Participate and lead rule reviews with internal and external stake holders. Coordinates and collaborates on inter- and intra-agency workgroups and in teams on early care and education initiatives, regulations . Complete federal data requests, reports, and other information collection documentation. Participate in review of the Ohio Revised Code and provide input on changes needed regarding legislative changes. Preferred qualifications would be: Experience with policy development, public policy analysis, and government policy implementation in early care and education programs. Pay Information: Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be step 1 of the salary range associated with this position. New hires advance to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Based on collective bargaining and legislative activity, there may be cost of living increases awarded annually. Additional longevity supplements begin after 5 years. The current wage progression for this position is in the table below.
