POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Mental Health and Addictions, the Ojichaagwan Ani-mino-aya program Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of the Treatment Service and coordinate with allied Human Trafficking (HT) services to ensure that the programming and the facility meets the needs ranging from cultural, developmental, treatment, mental health, health, and psycho-social of the clients. The Ojichaagwan Ani-mino-aya program is a spirit-led and treatment program that centralizes spiritual and holistic practices coupled with various Western treatment methods that support Indigenous children and youth exiting and recovering from sexual violence and trafficking. The program is coordinated and facilitated province-wide with multiple HT services and partnerships to ensure holistic long-term supports for Indigenous children and youth pre and post treatment.
The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the provision of Holistic Treatment Services for children and youth through a 24-hour care setting that is consistent with the vision, mission and core values established by Dilico Anishinabek Family Care.
As well, the Ojichaagwan Ani-mino-aya program Manager will be responsible for maintaining relationships with Knowledge Keepers and Indigenous Communities in the Robinson Superior Treaty Area for collaborating on program development to meet the needs of the Indigenous children and youth, First Nations Communities, and ensure that all individuals feel reflected within their healing and wellness journey for completion success and meeting their healing needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Social Work or Psychology Graduate Degree is preferred. A minimum of four-year Social Work Degree or related Degree is required. Other combinations of related qualifications and experience may be considered if no applications are received with the qualifications as specified above.
  • three or more years related experience in the field of Addiction and mental health Services particularly relating to First Nation clients;
  • three (3) or more years in a managerial role;
  • training and experience in Working with at risk youth in a licensed environment.
  • satisfactory Criminal Records Search;
  • ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Assistant Director of Mental Health and Addictions in relation to service requirements;
  • must possess a Class “G” Driver’s License and must have access to a personal vehicle;
  • must complete a medical and receive the required immunizations as recommended by the local medical officer of health.
    Hours of Work: 35 weekly
