The StudyForge team is the curriculum development department of HCOS. StudyForge creates curriculum which is licensed to other schools across Canada and the United States, serving tens of thousands of students every year.
HCOS’ Curriculum Development team is seeking a Humanities Curriculum Developer with expertise in teaching humanities to create online English language arts, social studies, and Christian studies middle and high school courses. A Curriculum Developer is primarily responsible for developing online courses as assigned by the Curriculum Manager.
As a Curriculum Developer, your duties and responsibilities will include:
Create exciting and impactful content for student instruction and assessment
Assess existing curriculum to ensure alignment with learning standards, including those in new jurisdictions including the United States
Develop onboarding and training materials for teachers using StudyForge products
Address error reports and customer feedback with creativity and promptness
Continuously assess curriculum against StudyForge’s evolving standards
Train and assist teachers in using StudyForge curriculum effectively
Engage in constructive feedback and help foster a better workplace environment
Contribute to various initiatives and projects within StudyForge as opportunities arise
Represent the mission and values of StudyForge and HCOS in all communications

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

Certified teacher with exceptional writing and editing skills
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
A servant-hearted, empathetic approach to teamwork and collaboration
Problem-solving mindset with determination to tackle complex issues
Open to constructive feedback and conflict resolution
Minimum of five years teaching English language arts, social studies, and/or Christian studies at varying grade levels
A strong understanding of BC curriculum and an ability to align curriculum with the learning standards of other jurisdictions, including Common Core in the United States
Knowledge of curriculum pedagogy, especially within online or blended learning contexts
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Strong ability to analyze government curriculum documents and standards
Flexible and eager to learn new technologies and tools
