SUMMARY: The Hunger Relief Specialist will be under the direction of the Program Coordinator and will assist with daily operations of all programs. Work hours include Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 7:15am to 3:45pm at Loaves and Fishes; and Tuesday and Thursday from 8am to 4:30pm at the Catholic Pastoral Center, Casa Azafran FRC, or McGruder FRC. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Cleans and assists maintaining the Loaves and Fishes building, including but not limited to kitchen, dining hall, and bathrooms. Regularly assists in supervising volunteer groups of all ages in multiple settings and programs. Communicates and regularly updates multiple community partners/agencies to best assist guests and clients. Maintains food pantry organization. Assists with Open Shop at Second Harvest. Data entry. Assists with managing volunteer calendars. Assists with inventory of supplies. Assists with loading and unloading supplies, with the ability to lift 35 pounds. Able to coordinate the program without direction in the event the Program Coordinator is out. Maintains accurate client/program records regarding services provided according to Agency guidelines, using the database(s) provided by the agency and within Agency timeframe. Actively participates in supervision sessions, periodic team meetings, and training as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Must demonstrate emotional stability and have high personal integrity. Capable of being calm and having non-judgmental interactions with people in various life situations. Must be able to work on a team, but also independently with little direction. Ability to use critical thinking to help bring solutions to problems. A strong sense of and respect for confidentiality concerning participants and fellow employees. Flexibility with work schedule and responding to team and client needs. Strong written and oral communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to learn databases, and other systems. Current driver’s license required. Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and provide own transportation.
