The Project UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the ~140km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project. HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure. The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0. We are looking for experienced Substation Electricians to join our team onsite in Wagga Wagga, NSW. This is a great opportunity for either local or FIFO/DIDO electricians who have experience working on Substation project. Responsibilities and accountabilities include but not limited to: Install new electrical equipment such as but not limited to switchboards, control panels, switchgear, fittings, cabling, earthing systems, and control systems Upgrading existing infrastructure Test and commission of electrical systems; Complete certification for completed works and issue a certificate of compliance. Ensure a safe working condition is present for all employees, contractors and visitors; Qualifications And Experience Required: • Current Electrical Licence • Previous experience working on substations – preferably high voltage. • Construction White card • Provide First Aid • High Risk Work Licence – Work Platform • Working at Heights/Confined Spaces • High risk work licenses for EWP, forklift or telehandler (Desirable) • Drivers Licence • LV Rescue and CPR We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
