Description

PeerSource is currently recruiting for an HVAC BIM Designer on a Direct Hire basis. This role is based out of West Palm Beach, FL (potentially could be based out of Fort Lauderdale instead).

SUMMARY

A leading mechanical contractor is seeking a skilled Commercial HVAC BIM Designer to develop and maintain detailed 3D models for large-scale commercial projects. This position requires hands-on expertise with BIM software, a strong understanding of HVAC systems, and experience working in coordination with engineers, architects, and field teams. The role plays a key part in ensuring models are accurate, clash-free, and compliant with Florida mechanical codes.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 5+ years of experience in 3D HVAC pipe and duct modeling, including chilled and condenser water systems.
  • Proficient in Revit software ideal. Experience with SysQue and Navisworks would also be preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and familiarity with Florida mechanical codes.
  • Strong problem-solving, coordination, and collaboration abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work onsite and interact closely with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Autodesk Revit certification preferred; field coordination experience is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Create detailed 3D HVAC system models using Revit, SysQue, and Navisworks.
  • Coordinate with other trades to integrate models and resolve conflicts before installation.
  • Conduct clash detection and address design issues collaboratively with project teams.
  • Prepare field installation and fabrication drawings from BIM models.
  • Maintain updated documentation and model versions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in BIM and construction coordination meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, Florida mechanical codes, and BIM Execution Plans.
  • Support cross-functional teams including engineering, construction, preconstruction, and retrofit as needed.
  • Occasionally travel to job sites and other offices to assist with project coordination and turnover meetings.
