Chief Operating Officer (COO) Location: South Florida (Tri-County Area) Reports to: Founders / President About the Company We are a rapidly growing residential and commercial HVAC services platform operating across a major South Florida metropolitan area. The company has built a strong reputation for reliability, quality service, and disciplined execution, and is now entering an aggressive growth phase with plans to scale operations significantly year-over-year. To support this next stage of growth, we are seeking a hands-on Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead field operations, build scalable systems, develop leaders, and ensure operational excellence across the organization. Role Overview The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will have full responsibility for operational performance across all functions, including field execution, process design, leadership development, KPI management, and operational scalability. This is a high-impact executive role requiring both strategic leadership and frontline immersion. The COO is expected to spend approximately the first 12 months in a 50/50 capacity—half of their time in the field alongside technicians and customers, and half focused on leadership, systems, and strategy. This approach ensures deep alignment with frontline realities while building scalable infrastructure for growth. Key Responsibilities Operations & Process Excellence Oversee end-to-end residential and commercial HVAC operations, including service, maintenance, installation, dispatch, and customer support Spend significant time in the field during the first year to deeply understand workflows, challenges, and service standards Design, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all operational functions Lead systems adoption and pricing strategy execution (e.g., good / better / best frameworks, field service software, inventory, and logistics tools) Ensure strong operational alignment between sales, service, dispatch, and support teams Leadership & Talent Development Build and scale leadership capacity across managers, supervisors, and frontline leaders Define clear, written roles and responsibilities to establish accountability and ownership Coach leaders on performance management, team motivation, and decision-making Develop leadership training programs and foster a culture of continuous improvement KPI & Accountability Framework Define and implement KPIs at the company, branch, team, and individual levels Establish clear tracking systems, reporting cadence, and ownership for metrics Create a structured accountability rhythm (daily huddles, weekly reviews, monthly and quarterly scorecards) Drive consistent performance management and corrective action when targets are missed Strategic Growth & Financial Oversight Translate aggressive growth targets into executable operational plans Own operational budgeting, margin management, and P&L performance Identify and execute revenue expansion initiatives, including membership programs, upsells, and new service offerings Support scaling of fleet, facilities, infrastructure, and operational headcount Customer Experience & Quality Assurance Ensure a consistently high-quality customer experience across all touchpoints Implement quality assurance systems and customer feedback loops Hold teams accountable to service-level expectations and brand standards Ideal Candidate Profile Experience & Skills 10+ years of senior operations leadership in residential services (HVAC or adjacent trades strongly preferred) Proven track record scaling operations during periods of rapid growth Experience leading multi-team or multi-location organizations with P&L responsibility Deep expertise in KPI development, reporting systems, and accountability frameworks Ability to balance hands-on field leadership with executive-level strategy Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills Personal Attributes Hands-on, servant-minded leader willing to start in the field High integrity, disciplined, and results-oriented Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments Passionate about building people, systems, and scalable operations Compensation & Benefits Competitive executive base salary plus gross-profit-based performance bonus Equity participation or profit-sharing potential Comprehensive executive benefits package Leadership development and coaching support Travel and expense reimbursement
