Description CMS Controls Charleston is currently looking for a HVAC DDC Field Engineer. Job Summary The candidate for this position will be responsible for working alongside engineering staff to develop then deploy programming and graphics needed to meet project requirements. Candidate will be responsible for assistance with site start up and checkout of associated programming. Essential Job Functions Work with primarily Niagara based systems with some inspections / troubleshooting of other product lines. On-the-job and factory training provided to supplement current knowledge or to provide base knowledge on Distech/Niagara. Programming, deployment, checkout, and calibration of DDC systems. Installation and termination of unitary controllers and sensors. General troubleshooting and inspection of DDC system’s. Generate, document, and maintain organization of shared files Positive interactions with customers Requirements Minimum requirements 3+ years of direct experience with DDC controls systems or 1+ years DDC experience paired with 5+ years of commercial/industrial HVAC mechanical experience. Niagara 4 certification with some Distech experience preferred. Understanding of mechanical equipment sequence of operations / design including but not limited to terminal boxes, fan coil units, VAV and constant volume RTU's and AHU's, and basic 4 pipe systems. Proficiency with troubleshooting and proper installation of control devices. Proficiency with DDC network layout and best practices. Understanding of I.T. infrastructure and IP based systems. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, Word, Etc.) Must be self-motivated with excellent people and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects at one time and flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends as required. Valid SC driver license. Pass a background check to allow access to various types of facilities.
Responsibilities
The Field Engineer will develop and deploy programming and graphics for DDC systems while assisting with site start-up and checkout. They are also responsible for the installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of control devices and network infrastructure.
