POSITION: BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEMS SPECIALIST

We are seeking an experienced and driven professional with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in BAS/DDC systems to join our team. This role reports directly to the Engineering Manager and offers the opportunity to work on complex and evolving projects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in BAS/DDC design and implementation.
• Strong understanding of electronic and pneumatic controls and starter circuits.
• Knowledge of building mechanical systems and electrical control circuits.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Visio, Microsoft Office Suite, and networking (e.g., port forwarding).
• Programming experience with BASIC, C++, or similar languages.
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat is an asset.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license with access to a personal vehicle.
• Ability to obtain security clearance.
• Willingness to travel to construction sites across Ontario.

• Develop custom control logic based on project scope and specifications.
• Commission control systems including HW and DHW systems.
• Design and customize user-friendly BAS graphics tailored for the end user.
• Provide client training on the JCI Facility Explorer (FX) platform.
• Review consultant-issued mechanical drawings to prepare control schematics, sequences of operation, valve and damper schedules, and other project documentation.
• Perform site visits for inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Program equipment using programmable ladder logic.
• Coordinate with mechanical contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Provide hands-on support for field installers and commissioning staff.
