Description Magnolia Companies has an immediate opening for an HVAC Estimator in our Washington DC office. Our work covers a vast array of high-profile clients in a wide variety of projects including, but not limited to, government local & federal, schools, healthcare, multi-family, pharmaceutical and medical manufacturing. In this role, you will prepare and submit bids for opportunities ranging from $25,000 to $3M. Job Responsibilities: Evaluate and pricing retrofit, plan/specs. Design - build projects for plumbing and mechanical scopes. Read & review job bid instructions, drawings and specifications. Preparing accurate take-off and compiling pricing. Utilize software/quick-pen to build estimates (I.E. Bluebeam, Trimble or PlanSwift). Work in a team-oriented environment to transition awarded projects to the Project Manager. Manage various RFPs (request for proposals). Requirements Valid driver’s license. Preferred education in Construction Management. Preferred journeyman or master license in HVAC a plus. 3- 5 years of related experience in the Mechanical & Plumbing estimating process. Reliable, detailed oriented, highly organized, and capable of handling several tasks. Strong administrative and computer skills for preparing proposals, scopes of work, and schedules. Proficient in reading & interpreting architectural and MEP drawings. Understand labor units, productivity factors, subcontractor coordination, and material pricing. Ability to attend and document findings from job walks and pre-bid site visits.
