JOB DESCRIPTION
This role provides design engineering support to the TRISO-X fuel production facility, from research and development to system design, installation, testing, and maintenance. The role contributes to the design, assembly, testing, and maintenance of mechanical and process equipment, furthering the design and licensing of the TRISO-X Facility.
JOB PROFILE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, or nuclear engineering from a program accredited by the ABET EAC is required. ETAC-accredited Engineering Technology programs will not be considered for this position.
- CAD and P&ID experience are required.
- Experience with facility design, construction, and operation is required.
- Typically, ten years of experience in an engineering role, including machine, process, or facility design and assembly.
- A master’s degree in engineering or related field (may include a combination of experience obtained through an academic institution, e.g., design projects, research, or design teams, as well as professional experience) may be in lieu of two years of experience.
- A Ph.D. in engineering or related field (may include a combination of experience obtained through an academic institution, e.g., design projects, research, or design teams, as well as professional experience) may be in lieu of three years of experience.
- Previous experience at X-energy exceeding performance standards may be in lieu of years of experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical and/or chemical engineering concepts, including design, manufacture, installation, assembly, and operation of equipment and systems which meet all manufacturing process and safety standards.
- Knowledge of manufacturing facility design, including lean manufacturing approaches.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable codes and standards pertinent to mechanical and/or process designs.
- Knowledge of 2D/3D engineering and manufacturing tools, e.g. ProE.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Carrier HAP, Trace TRACE, or similar design and simulation software.
