Description SUMMARY Develops, coordinates, and provides high-quality education and training programs to students for the Construction Training Department. Delivers National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning & Refrigerant (HVACR) curricula while ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory compliance with NCCER and Organizational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES are listed below in order of importance, from most important to least. Provides comprehensive curriculum that guides learners through a rigorous HVAC and Refrigeration curriculum and prepares learners for a career as skilled heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers. Instructs basic knowledge of sheet metal, welding, and pipefitting. Provides hands-on training using technologies and processes used in the field. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and individualized learning plans. Generates and analyzes reports to assess the curriculum's effectiveness and identifies improvement areas. Administers module tests to evaluate students' understanding and proficiency in the electrical field. Provides timely and constructive assessment feedback, guiding students towards continuous improvement. Conducts training within Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont guidelines utilizing NCCER. Demonstrates electrician techniques while emphasizing safety protocols and best practices. Provides students with constructive feedback and individualized coaching to improve their skills and proficiency. Identifies and addresses individual learning needs, adapting instructional strategies to accommodate diverse student abilities and backgrounds. Maintains knowledge of industry trends to identify evolving training needs. Integrates Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations into curriculum. Provides supplemental instruction and resources to students who need assistance with mastering specific HVAC skills. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Performs other job-related tasks as assigned by Site Supervisor. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS At least four years' experience in the field of HVAC or three years of experience as a certified teacher at a vocational/technical construction or maintenance related training program. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School degree or general education degree (GED). National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Certified preferred. COMPUTER SKILLS Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid Driver’s License (Class C), car insurance and reliable automobile required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly (more than 2/3 of the day) required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The team member frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the day) is required to talk or hear. The team member is occasionally (less than 1/3 of the day) required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and depth perception. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed indoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can become loud in lab spaces.
