Description:
Position Summary :
The HVAC Lab Technician - 2nd Shift is an intermediate level position for testing with sufficient experience to handle most assignments. The Technician will perform routine testing and make adaptations to units exercising a limited degree of judgment.
Responsibilities :
- Set up test facility and instrumentation in response to general instructions.
- Support and collaborate with engineers in activities to structure and develop system testing capabilities and products.
- Analyze and improve existing processes & designs, as required
- Plan, set up, instrument, and operate products and test facilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot and correct issues.
- Assist in development of solutions or workarounds to resolve defects.
- Work with the engineering and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to fully understand the low-level functions within application software or products, as applicable.
- May assist the QA team in understanding/developing low-level functional and system integration tests.
- Conduct tests, analyze data and make modifications to units being tested within limits of intermediate nature.
- Requires timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Participate in 5S improvement programs
- Other Duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Two-year Associate’s Degree + 1 year OR at least 4 years’ HVAC directly related experience
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling License.
- Brazing, piping, basic wiring skills.
- 208/230/460V 3-phase 60 Hz wiring.
- Instrumentation and low volt wiring.
- General mechanical skills and ability to read mechanical drawings for prototype builds.
- Must have good working knowledge and skills in testing related to temperature, pressure, and electrical property measurement.
- Good planning, organizational, documentation, and communication skills are required.
- Good attendance
- MS Office experience helpful.Must be team oriented.
