Description Controlled Combustion is the leading heating contractor in NYC. We serve a variety of industries, including luxury apartments, hospitals, universities, and more. With over 150 employees, our team is as diverse as the services we offer. We’re looking for a dependable HVAC & Plumbing Warehouse Associate to support our operations by managing inventory, receiving shipments, organizing materials, and preparing orders for our technicians and project teams. This role is hands-on and detail-focused, working closely with our operations and service departments to ensure the right parts and equipment are available when needed. Please note that this position is strictly in-office. Hybrid or remote is not available for this position. Employee will be expected to commute to our Bronx office on a daily basis. Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and stock incoming HVAC and plumbing materials, equipment, and supplies. Pull, stage, and prepare parts and materials for jobs, service calls, and internal requests. Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular counts and updates to tracking systems/spreadsheets. Organize the warehouse to ensure parts are clearly labelled, safely stored, and easy to locate. Track and replenish frequently used items; communicate low stock and lead times to supervisors. Coordinate with office staff, purchasing, and technicians to resolve missing/incorrect items. Prepare shipments and deliveries (packing, labelling, and documentation as needed). Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment; follow safety procedures for lifting and storage. Assist with general warehouse tasks and special projects as needed. Ability to lift, move, and organize materials safely (typical warehouse lifting requirements). Comfortable using basic inventory systems, spreadsheets, and email communication. Strong organizational skills—able to keep the warehouse clean, labelled, and efficient. Familiarity with HVAC and plumbing materials (pipes, fittings, valves, controls, pumps, boilers, consumables, etc.) is a plus. Professional communication skills and a team-first attitude. Ability to handle sensitive company/vendor pricing and purchasing information with discretion. Minimum Education and Work Experience High school diploma (or equivalent) required. Prior warehouse, shipping/receiving, or inventory experience preferred. Experience in heating, oil and gas, HVAC, plumbing, or construction industries a plus. Forklift experience/certification.
