Brian Cox Mechanical is seeking an experienced HVAC preconstruction project manager with a minimum of 5 years industry-specific experience in estimating/project management. We are looking for someone who is extremely knowledgeable, reliable, detailed, and a good communicator both internal to the company and externally with customers and vendors. Key Responsibilities Preconstruction Collaborate with estimators & project managers to define project scope and deliverables. Review plans, specifications, and Basis of Design (BOD) criteria to ensure the budgets turned over to the construction are complete and compliant with plans & specs (catch anything that might have been missed in estimate). Review vendor equipment and subcontractor bids for scope completeness and accuracy. Evaluate project estimates and convert to detailed material and labor project budgets. Support construction teams by preparing accurate labor projections and resource plans. Conduct material and equipment take-offs with high accuracy. Facilitate a smooth transition from estimating to construction. Maintain strong communication with vendors, subcontractors, and internal purchasing teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficiency with on-screen takeoff software. Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Technical Proficiency Chilled water systems VRF (air-cooled and water-cooled) Water source heat pump systems VAV systems Knowledge of controls systems Specialty systems (dry rooms, labs, clean rooms, etc.) Preferred Qualifications 5 years of experience in HVAC estimating, project management, or mechanical contracting. Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans, specifications, and engineering documents. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. Demonstrated ability to build strong client and subcontractor relationships.
