HVAC/R Program Director   About The Job  Fortis Institute in Towson is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Program Director for the HVAC/R program.  If you possess a desire to help others succeed, this is an opportunity for you to positively impact the lives and careers of our students and graduates.    Fortis Institute provides educational programs that deliver real-life career skills in high-demand occupations that lead to employment upon graduation and a lifetime of professional growth.    Job Description  We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic leader to manage the HVAC/R program. This is a full-time, professional position reporting directly to the Dean/Director of Education. As the leader of the program, the Program Director is responsible for managing the department using sound business principles and ensuring compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and company policies and procedures. This position requires some evening and Saturday hours.     The Program Director teaches in his/her assigned discipline, works with faculty to promote continuous improvement of the quality of instruction within the assigned program(s), is the lead administrator for the department, and, as such, is responsible for faculty training and development, coordinating and administering the academic program(s) and student outcomes and activities within the department.    Requirements  * Completion of an accredited HVAC/R program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma is required; an associate degree in HVAC/R or a related field is required * Expertise in interpersonal and verbal presentation/written communication skills.    * Ability to provide effective direction and leadership, and work effectively and collaboratively with others.  * Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HVAC/R Technician * Prior higher education/postsecondary related teaching experience of at least 2 years is required * Certifications: * HVAC/R * EPA Universal * NATE - preferred but not required * HVAC Journeyman - desired but not required
