Air Wise Sales Inc. is one of the leading manufacturers of custom air handling units in North America. With three production facilities, one located in Dundas, ON, a second in Nisku, AB, and a third in Kingston, ON, AWSI is strategically positioned to ship our products across North America.
In this role as a HVAC Refrigeration/Piping Installer, you will be required to learn, understand, and apply all Air Wise policies and procedures to help manufacture the highest quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will routinely perform your duties with minimal supervision, independently and in a team with other assemblers and operators. You must be able to work in an environment with many distractions, maintaining a high level of accuracy and safety, while performing your duties.
Please note that this role is factory-based. It is not a service position.
The schedule for this role is Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Study drawings and specifications to determine the layout of the installation and materials required
• Measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment
• Install, maintain and service gas heating units and their components, such as burners, valves, and automatic controls
• Test and replace defective equipment or components
• Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Education:

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent
• Gas Fitter Certification: Level 1/A, 2/B, or 3/C an asset
• 1 year experience is preferred
• Experience with sheet metal an asset
• Knowledge of HVAC manufacturing an asset
• Able to read drawings and tape measure with attention to detail
• Able to work as a part of the team with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines
• Good troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift and move large pieces of sheet metal (up to and above 50 lbs.) on a consistent basis
