As an HVAC Journeyman Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial, data center, and industrial HVAC equipment at customer sites. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and service on commercial HVAC systems, including RTUs, AHUs, CRAC units, VAVs, heat pumps, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and pumps. Diagnose and repair HVAC system issues, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related faults, including leak detection, recovery, charging, and performance testing per EPA regulations. Support building automation and controls, including troubleshooting, adjustments, and interpreting mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control schematics. Service and maintain system components, such as coils, belts, bearings, motors, filters, and related mechanical parts. Complete emergency and scheduled service calls, providing accurate documentation in company software, including parts used, diagnostics, recommendations, and labor. Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding service findings and next steps, while adhering to all company safety policies and participating in the on-call rotation. Qualifications 4+ years of commercial HVAC service experience or completion of a recognized HVAC apprenticeship. Valid EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification. Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, controls, and refrigeration fundamentals. Experience in mission-critical environments (data centers, telecom facilities, etc.). Ability to diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant system issues without supervision. Strong communication skills and professional customer interaction. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on ladders, rooftops, and in mechanical rooms.
