Advises and trains on the installation, service, and repair of environmental control systems in residences, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout as well as on the fabrication, assembly, and installation of ductwork and chassis parts. Enforces the utilization of best industry practices in the process of connecting motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating-ventilation fans to control panels and connects control panels to power source. May install, repair, and service air-conditioners in accordance with applicable codes, standards and/or manufacturer’s instructions. Will be required to possess the appropriate EPA certification, or an approved equivalent, to perform work with refrigerant.
Superintendent – Possesses all of the foreman skills, having verifiable minimum experience and/or holds an accepted certification, license and/or degree in a specific craft. Usually considered the most experienced, highest skilled professional in their respective field and possesses very good supervisory skills. Provides supervision for multiple craft crews. Requires no supervision.
As directed by management, may supervise employees or subcontractor personnel in accordance with the “General Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities” addendum.
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma / GED equivalent preferred. six (6) years to nine (9) years related experience.
Requires the technical skills, job knowledge and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions.
Journeyman or Master license/certificate or equivalent is required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have a Secret Security Clearance
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS
Perform inspection, preventive and corrective maintenance, installation, replacement, and repair for USG-owned/leased HVAC systems and facilities located in AASAB and JSSD-K.
Must possess a Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification or work under direct supervision of a certified technician.
Position may be located in a wide variety of environments, from conventional indoor office workspace to project worksites with harsh, working and living conditions.
To ensure compliance with safety, health and security requirements in the contract, employee will possess the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language at the intermediate level as necessary to perform assigned job functions.
Position requires the basic skills and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior military and/or contingency experience.
