This individual must have adequate experience in all areas of the HVAC trade and be willing and able to encourage and teach others. Key responsibilities of an HVAC licensed contractor: Installation: Installing new HVAC systems in homes and businesses, including proper sizing, layout, and placement of equipment. Maintenance: Performing routine inspections and servicing of existing HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns. Repair: Diagnosing and troubleshooting HVAC system malfunctions, repairing or replacing faulty components, and restoring system functionality. Customer interaction: Consulting with clients to understand their needs, providing estimates for projects, explaining system options, and addressing concerns. Code compliance: Adhering to local building codes and regulations related to HVAC installation and maintenance. Project management: Overseeing the entire HVAC project, including scheduling, coordinating with other trades, and ensuring timely completion. Estimating costs: Assessing project requirements and providing accurate cost breakdowns for labor and materials. Quality control: Inspecting completed installations to ensure proper functionality and adherence to industry standards. Required skills and qualifications: Technical knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of HVAC systems, including principles of heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration. Troubleshooting skills: Ability to diagnose system malfunctions and identify root causes of problems.
