Description Position Summary: St. Mary’s College is seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Technician to join our Facilities Management team. The HVAC Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems throughout the campus. The ideal candidate will ensure all systems operate efficiently and safely to provide a comfortable and functional environment for students, faculty, and staff. Key Responsibilities: Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including air handlers, boilers, chillers, ductwork, heat pumps, and control systems. Perform routine preventive maintenance on HVAC systems and related equipment. Troubleshoot and diagnose system malfunctions and recommend appropriate repairs. Monitor HVAC systems to ensure compliance with energy conservation and sustainability standards. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, including after-hours calls as needed. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance. Collaborate with other maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors. Ensure work complies with all applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations. Assist with planning and implementation of HVAC system upgrades and capital projects. Requirements Qualifications: Required: High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC installation and repair. Valid HVAC certification (EPA 608 or equivalent). Strong understanding of HVAC systems, schematics, and controls. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and manuals. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Valid driver’s license. Preferred: Associate’s degree or technical certification in HVAC or related field. Experience working in an institutional or educational setting. Familiarity with energy management systems (EMS/BAS). Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Capable of working in confined spaces and at heights. Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods. Tolerance for varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, humidity).
