Responsibilities and Duties include:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, or other specifications
  • Measure and lay out reference points for installation
  • Use hand and power tools to assemble, install, and repair units
  • Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices
  • Perform testing of HVAC systems
  • Routine maintenance or service, including system maintenance, recharge, checking and testing regulators, calibrating system
  • Conduct troubleshooting and repairs for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, heat pump, electrical, and control systems
  • Promote teamwork and good company morale; mentor and knowledge share with teammates; conduct yourself with the highest ethical standards

Qualifications & Education:

  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • Post-secondary education in HVAC Technician or related field preferred
  • G2 gas license is required
  • 3 years’ experience in HVAC testing, repair and/or servicing; working with electrical components required
  • Experience with commercial air handling units and working in a manufacturing setting an asset
  • Ability to use hand tools and basic power tools
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift heavy parts (50 lbs.) and sheet metal on a frequent basis; ability to stand for extended periods of time; ability to crouch, climb, reach, twist, and bend
  • Ability to work in a team or group environment and independently with minimal instruction
  • Ability to work under pressure and short deadlines
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills, professionalism, and interpersonal skills to work with colleagues and clients from diverse backgrounds

Responsibilities

THIS ROLE IS BLENDED AND WILL INVOLVE FACTORY-BASED WORK AND OFF-SITE WORK FOLLOWING A TRAINING PERIOD, IN AN APPROXIMATE 50/50 SPLIT BASED ON OPERATIONAL NEED.

A Valid driver’s license and unrestricted ability to travel in Canada and the US are required. A clear driver’s abstract is required prior to starting work.
