Responsibilities

Execute the activities of product technical training. Technical training is provided quickly and accurately through a variety of means and on an as needed basis to all levels of internal and external customers. Technical training will cover both pre- sale and post-sale situations and will encompass the entire family of products sold in Canada both past and present.
Analyze customer identified field issues that require corrective actions and communicate such issues to management for action. Participate in the execution of in-house product/service training activities as required.

As directed, utilize in-house service laboratory / test facility to evaluate new products, analyze failed product, simulate reported technical field issues, product troubleshooting, root cause identification, corrective action development and product training for HVAC, boilers, pool heaters and water heaters.

  • Maintain a strong and current expertise on all company products through appropriate product training, external technical training / skills upgrade and participate in experimentation with new and current products in the local service laboratory
  • Provide training to internal and external customers on the use, application, troubleshooting and safety aspects of company products as required
  • Quickly and accurately evaluate and resolve internal and external customer requests for technical assistance / training pertaining to product application, installation, operating performance, field failure etc.
  • Provide input and guidance on related customers’ warranty requirements and provide information for warranty disposition to appropriate personnel
  • Recognize that all requests for technical training are treated as high priority issues
  • Apply all skills and available resources to resolve all customer technical issues
  • Identify product issues and communicate to appropriate personnel at both local and divisional locations, as necessary
  • Provide input regarding product related issues for preparation of technical service bulletins/advisories, etc. to provide application, installation, and service guidance to customers/contractors
  • Participate in the implementation of technical field training programs.
  • Participate in the implementation of essential field retrofit / training programs as deemed necessary
  • As needed, travel to locations and/or installation sites to assist in the resolution of product issues, field failures and to investigate installations for various reasons
  • Provide engaging training presentations
  • Other assigned duties as deemed necessary
