- To provide construction support for the HVDC Reliability project throughout the scope development phase through the
construction phase - for north and south portions.
- Lead development of overall project Engineering, and/or procurement, and/or construction plans including resource
requirements, estimating, procurement strategies and risk assessment.
- Lead cross-functional teams, including external workforce, as required to support construction, construction management,
specification preparation scheduling, estimating, material procurement, project controls and contract administration activities.
- Lead the preparation of RFx contracts for Engineering and construction, acting as technical contact for clarifications, and
preparation of addendums as required.
- Lead coordination with internal Supply Chain Management and Law Departments to prepare, tender, negotiate, contract
award, and lead the administration of contracts.
- Makes decisions specific to cost vs. environmental, safety and community engagement impacts and makes recommendations
on issues of greater scope.
- Evaluate, provide feedback, and select and negotiate with contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Collaborates with contractors, consultants, and suppliers in service/product delivery, providing specialized technical advice.
- Lead, assist or direct & review analysis and review of contract claims, preparation, and approval of change orders.
- Conducts complex technical interaction with contractors, consultants, and suppliers with respect to Engineering, procurement,
construction, environment, community engagement and safety, including service/market evaluation and development.
- Ensure compliance with government and Manitoba Hydro regulations including workplace safety and environmental rules and
regulations.
- Keep abreast of latest developments in areas such as construction methods and environmental and safety management as
they relate to construction.
