FAMILY DESCRIPTION

Applied R&D (AR) consists of target-oriented research either with the goal of solving a particular problem / answering a specific question or for multi-discipline design, development, and implementation of hardware, software, and systems including maintenance support. Supplies techno-economic consulting to clients. AR work is characterised by its detailed and complex nature in order to systematically combine existing knowledge and practices to further developing and incrementally improving products, operational processes, and customer-specific feature development.

SUBFAMILY DESCRIPTION

Analogue Hardware (AHA) comprises the specification, simulation, virtualization, design and implementation of analogue hardware. This covers power supply, powering (Point of Loads) and power delivery network in PCB level -parts of the radio products as well as sub module level verification and product unit level specification and integration.

• Independently works within broad guidelines and uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues.
• Works with substantial discretion and uses specialist knowledge, analytical skills, judgment and broad conceptual and practical experience to solve complex problems and to contribute to process improvements.
• Transfers concepts for professional direction of own organisational unit into actionable measures.
• Provides working leadership and training to less experienced personnel.
• May lead small projects with limited risks and resource requirements.
• Analyses, designs, develops and tests products resolutions for integrated systems as per customers’ requirements.
• Resolves customer trouble tickets. Diagnoses complex problems / issues (EG hardware, software, combination) and provides resolution or recommend corrective actions.
• Plans technical requirements from customers’ needs.
• Retains technical and design knowledge for assigned products and technologies and provides training to the lower support teams (Tier 2 and Tier 3).
• Applies and maintains quality standards. Participates in process and tools evolutions and improvements.
• Applies the SW process contributing when needed to the fastest problem restoration.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Established skills and knowledge of theory and principles within a professional discipline in power supply and/or powering (Point of Loads) area. Uses functionally specific knowledge. Typically 3-5 years directly related experience and a graduate equivalent degree. All kind of experience and interest in power supply design is good.
