TEKALLOY ARE LOOKING FOR A SKILLED HYDRAULICS DESIGN ENGINEER TO JOIN AN ESTABLISHED MACHINERY MANUFACTURER IN WAKEFIELD, WITH HYBRID WORKING AVAILABLE.

Our client, a respected leader in the design and manufacture of bespoke machinery, is seeking a talented engineer to take ownership of hydraulic system design across a diverse product portfolio. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your technical expertise to large-scale, one-off projects that demand innovation, precision, and compliance with the latest industry standards.
In this role, you’ll be involved in projects from concept through to production, working closely with design, controls, sales, and production teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions tailored to customer requirements.
This position would suit a hydraulics design professional who is looking for a challenging role with real variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to make a direct impact on project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement hydraulic systems for presses and associated machinery
  • Create and revise hydraulic schematics, P&IDs, and functional diagrams
  • Produce fabrication and manufacturing drawings for reservoirs, skids, manifolds, and HPUs
  • Carry out hydraulic modelling and system analysis to meet customer requirements
  • Support sales by liaising directly with customers to develop technical specifications
  • Collaborate with Software and Controls Engineers to produce functional design specs (FDS)
  • Conduct risk assessments, FMEA, and compile technical files in line with directives
  • Create part records, BOMs, and upload into ERP systems
  • Provide design support to planning and production, ensuring smooth project delivery
  • Liaise with suppliers and purchasing to ensure cost-effective bought-out components
  • Train and mentor junior design personnel as required
