NOV Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) is seeking an experienced Hydraulic Engineer. In this role you will be joining our Port Elizabeth team responsible for hydraulic design and technical documentation on various equipment for new and existing markets. Our customers are oil and rig companies, rig operators and renewable-energy industry. We have a broadly composed professional environment with heavy expertise in the following disciplines: Mechanical, hydraulics, pipe design & layout, automation, electrical / instrumentation as well as structure calculation. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Design and calculation of hydraulic systems and components in accordance with international standards and regulations * Prepare Hydraulics Flow Diagram, bills of material, technical documentation, and test procedures and engineering reports * Contribute to standardization of hydraulic system / components and conduct improved quality, environment, and safety * Comply with and perform NOV Quality Management System processes and procedures * The positions also include versatile and varied engineering work, a close cooperation with other departments and disciplines within NOV * Some travel activities will be expected SKILLS, TRAINING, OR SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE: * We are looking for engineers with a Master's or Bachelor's education (Mechanical/Mechatronics) or other equivalent and relevant experience * Understanding of hydraulic theory and the ability to apply knowledge in the design of hydraulic circuits (Essential) * 5 years + experience (theoretical and practical) designing Hydraulic systems for heavy industrial, land or offshore oilfield equipment * Knowledge of hydraulic components and suppliers in the market (Essential) * Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD and computer skills (Essential) * Ability to effectively communicate technical principles and equipment operation to other stakeholders We offer: At NOV we offer you interesting and demanding tasks in an international environment with good opportunities for professional development. We have an informal environment characterized by trust, openness and high wellbeing, good conditions, and exciting career opportunities.
