POSITION SUMMARY

Hydro Tech is seeking a Hydro-Mechanical Project Manager with 3-5 years of direct, relevant project management experience to lead and oversee hydro-mechanical projects from initiation to close-out. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing budgets, schedules, resources, and client relationships while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of project management experience in hydro-mechanical, heavy industrial, or waterpower-related projects.
  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of hydro-mechanical equipment and systems (gates, valves, penstocks, turbines, etc.).
  • Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel to project sites in Canada and the United States as required.
  • PMP certification (or working towards) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 standards is an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage hydro-mechanical projects to successful completion.
  • Develop project schedules using MS Project and/or Primavera P6 and ensure milestones are met.
  • Oversee project budgets, track costs, and control expenditures to maintain financial targets.
  • Manage on-site activities, subcontractors, and internal resources to ensure timely, safe, and efficient project execution.
  • Prepare and deliver project documentation, reports, proposals, and status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on all project sites.
  • Support procurement processes and assist with the selection of vendors and suppliers.
  • Participate in project risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
