Job Description We have an exciting opportunity for a Hydrocarbon Facility Technician to join our Commercial & Industrial team based in Mackay, Queensland. In this role, you will support a major mining client by maintaining their fuel and lubricants facility at a remote mining site located approximately two hours’ drive from Mackay. The role: Based in Mackay, QLD, with regular travel to our client’s remote mining site Full-time permanent position Work pattern: Travel to site on Monday Work onsite Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Return to Mackay on Friday While onsite, you’ll stay at the mining camp, with all accommodation and meals provided A company Ford Ranger Ute is supplied for work travel and can also be used for personal use on weekends Key Responsibilities As a Hydrocarbon Facility Technician, you will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and inspection of fuel and lubricant assets, including: Cleaning and maintaining lubricant tanks Maintaining fuel assets, including hoses, pumps and associated equipment Maintaining maintenance bays Conducting daily inspections of fuel, lubricant and grease tanks Reviewing and actioning work orders on a daily basis Carrying out general maintenance tasks as required by the client Build robust and trusted relationships with onsite customers. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will bring: Trade qualification as a Technician or Fitter (e.g. Mechanical, Hydraulic or similar) – highly desirable Strong commitment to HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) and continuous improvement Experience in general asset maintenance, ideally including fuel storage tanks and ancillary equipment A dependable, detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving skills Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships The ability to work autonomously, prioritise tasks effectively and take accountability for outcomes Additional Information About Viva Energy Join a team that values diversity.
