You will be responsible for the data quality from these stations and will develop and maintain excellent links with our key clients in Hydrology, Groundwater, and Flood Risk Management along with the Hydrometry and Telemetry field teams.

On completion of the training with advisor sign off, hybrid working is available, but at least 2-3 days of the working week is required in an office for collaborative working.
There will be a requirement to network and work alongside our field operations team for learning and development purposes, as well as build good relations with them as data validation involves a lot of communication with them.

The team comprises of Data and systems and Telemetry officers across a range of staff grades. It is a fully office-based team, primarily based in Lateral, Leeds. The team is responsible for the management of the telemetry system at area level and validation and archiving of all hydrometric data collected in Yorkshire. The service delivered underpins much of the Environment Agency’s statutory responsibilities relating to flood forecasting and water resources.
Experience/skills required
We are seeking an enthusiastic person with a passion for problem solving and good attention to detail. You will be qualified to an acceptable level in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience) and possess excellent communication skills and database management. Knowledge of our H&T systems will be a bonus as you will need to start the role of data processing almost immediately.
Ideally you should have, but not essential, the following skills:
Contact and additional information
Please contact our H&T Technical Specialist Andrea Edwards (andrea.edwards@environment-agency.gov.uk) for any questions about the role available.

Interviews will be conducted w/c 6th of October 2025
