SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 10-15 years of work experience in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, or Refining Industry
  • A minimum of 10 years of specialization in Hydrotreating, Hydroprocessing and Hydrocracking within the downstream oil refining industry
  • Proficiency in the following areas of Hydroprocessing and Hydrocracking:
  • Unit operation, troubleshooting, and optimization
  • Process modelling
  • Catalyst selection
  • Process development and equipment design, including design of reactor internals
  • Project development from early screening phase through lead case selection, detailed engineering, and up to unit startup and commissioning
  • New technology evaluation, development and deployment
  • Turnaround support which includes reactor inspection and startup

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, especially in a multicultural global team
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to develop creative, fit-for-purpose solutions to resolve operational problems
  • The ability to influence and promote change to achieve desired results with little or no direct authority
  • Willingness to travel as needed for business purposes (approximately 10% of the time)

You will be an integral part of our process engineering team, providing deep technical insights into a specific process engineering technology area (e.g., hydroprocessing) and supporting ExxonMobil’s manufacturing facilities globally.
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Hydroprocessing Process Specialist to join our process engineering team. The position is based in Spring, Texas, where you will work closely with our global process engineering team and teams at our manufacturing sites.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Your key deliverables may include one or more of the following:

  • Provide active technical leadership in the company in hydroprocessing and hydrocracking
  • Improve capability of the organization in hydroprocessing and hydrocracking by mentoring, reviewing technical work, developing and delivering technical training
  • Evaluate, develop and deploy technologies within your area of expertise to deliver value to the business
  • Provide process engineering technical leadership and support to operating sites on unit operation, optimization and troubleshooting during abnormal operation.
  • Function as the process technology technical lead for capital project development from screening phase up to unit startup
  • Support installation, commissioning and startup of greenfield or revamped facilities.
  • Lead or provide guidance on process model development, sustainment and enhancement
  • Collaborate with third parties to develop, design, manufacture, test and deploy technologies or equipment.
