Job Description

  • Commission and Manage 3rd party flood risk and mitigation studies
  • Advise on Structural flood protection measures (e.g. drainage systems, retention basins, and other green infrastructure) to manage runoff including preliminary sizing of the protection measures in order to make sure there is enough space for implementing them in the layout such as size of the drainage
  • Advise on Non-Structural flood protection Measures such as simple delineation of Floodplain Zoning according to water height and velocity, proposing restriction of PV development in areas prone to damage
  • Propose erosion control measures such as vegetation covers, Mulching and Matting, and Contour Ploughing for agrivoltaics projects
  • Propose sediment control plans including silt fences, sediment basins, etc.
  • Work with the PV engineers to implement proposed solutions in PV park designs at the development stage
  • Advise on the most appropriate location for heavy equipment according the preliminary flood risk assessment, example: transformer stations and substation
  • Advice on minimum heights for electrical equipment according the preliminary flood risk assessment, example: PV modules, string inverters, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in Hydrology/water resource engineering or similar degree
  • More than 3 years of experience in hydrology
  • Experience in development engineering performing the duties explained in the job description
  • Experience in detail engineering implementing the flood protection measures, including site visits is highly valuable
  • Experience in different countries, being able to adapt to different international and local standards
  • Ability to work in dynamic project teams
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Fluent in English (German and other European languages are a big plus)
