Description Summary/Objective The HydroVac Lead is entrusted with the cleanliness, safety, maintenance, productivity and overall effectiveness of the HydroVac Truck. HydroVac Lead will receives direction from a Mainline Lead or a Field Supervisor. Document all travel, onsite and other misc. time on DOT forms/apps. Perform complete truck evaluation at beginning of each shift and document on DOT forms/apps. Perform sewer cleaning and debris removal. Perform hydroexcavation and excavation. Assist mainline and other camera trucks with equipment or scope of work as requested. Utilize GIS to document production and site conditions. Perform periodic maintenance as described on equipment, including but not limited to grease and lubricants, turning of valves, winterizing. Insure all storage areas and truck compartments are clean and organized. Insure all related hoses and attachments are neatly coiled or stowed between uses. Performs related duties as required. Requirements Competencies Mechanical Skills Communication Skills Organizational Skills Decision Making Skills Technical Skills relating to systems onboard truck Technical Skills relating to GIS, email and other communication Education and Experience Safe driving record is required. High School Degree preferred. 2+ years’ HydroVac operations preferred Possession of a proper class of CDL and tanker endorsement. Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously, Balancing resources, timing and quality of outcomes is required. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Commitment to Pipe View’s Core Values, Mission Statement, and programs is required. Work Environment / Physical Demands / Location This work environment involves high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress that requires a range of safety and other precautions. This work involves physical exertion such as lifting, carrying or pushing heavy objects over 70 pounds. HydroVac is a single person crew on truck for a the majority of the time. Must be able to wear hard hat/helmet, safety glasses, goggles, safety shoes/boots, hearing protectors, safety vest and gloves. Exposure to extreme temperatures, animals/insects, electrical hazards, high pressure water/air, confined spaces, heights, noise, dust, irritants, and moving mechanical parts. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full time position. Normal days and hours of work fall Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m. Extended hours may be required based on the business need.
