We have an exciting opportunity to join our Hygiene Team as Front Line Manager based at our Hamilton site as part of ‘Finsbury Food Group’.

To be a success in this role, you will play a key role in providing first line leadership for Operational support teams to deliver the range of Operational and Operational support key performance indicators (KPI’s) on an hourly and shift basis. In your role you will be accountable for the daily operational support leadership and accountability aspect of your designated area / site. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe Hygiene compliance, GMP and care of Manufacturing Assets and Infrastructure resulting in the manufacture of quality products in a safe and organised working environment.
This is what you’ll actually do!
As the Hygiene First Line Manager, you will liaise daily with the Site Operations Manager to ensure all hygiene and operational support tasks are properly planned and executed safely.
You’ll be responsible for organising and briefing staff on job allocations, risk assessments, and the correct use of PPE to ensure both scheduled and unscheduled hygiene and operational support tasks are completed effectively.
In this role, you will work closely with manufacturing managers, engineering, technical teams, and HR, as required. You will support, coach, and motivate your team, ensuring all business rules and procedures are consistently followed.
You’ll play an active role in internal audits and support external audits, including BRC. In addition, you’ll assist the Site Services and Facilities Manager in managing site facilities and contractors.
You will also contribute to the review and development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
This role carries responsibility for delivering results against an agreed set of KPIs, monitored hourly and across shifts. These KPIs align with the overarching manufacturing strategy.
Also, you will aim to meet and continually improve cost standards by managing labour effectively and driving productivity in operations support.

Ideally this is you!

  • At least 2 years hygiene experience in food production.
  • Level 3 Award in Food Safety
  • An understanding of chemicals, ideally the successful candidate would be COSHH trained, but training can be arranged for the right candidate.
  • Highly organised and motivated
  • Be able to communicate clearly, using appropriate language to all levels of management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly and effectively in a fast-moving environment
  • Ability to analyse problems, identify and manage solutions
  • Tenacious and able to work as part of a team
  • Good motivational and People Management Skills
  • A fork lift or scissor lift licence would be an advantage but not essential
