JOB OVERVIEW

To oversee and maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the workplace, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and health and safety standards. The Hygiene Supervisor will lead a team, coordinate hygiene activities, and contribute to a safe, clean, and efficient operational environment. To ensure multi-level communication working alongside multi-national teams and deliver a strong message of unity and team support.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a hygiene-related role, with supervisory or team leader experience.
  • Strong understanding of hygiene and sanitation standards in [relevant industry, e.g., food manufacturing, healthcare].
  • Knowledge of HACCP, COSHH, and other relevant regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including shifts and weekends, as required

Responsibilities
  1. Team Supervision and Management
  • Supervise and manage the hygiene team, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring effective teamwork.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to team members to maintain best practices in hygiene standards.
  • Schedule staff shifts and ensure adequate coverage for all areas of responsibility.
  1. Hygiene Standards Compliance
  • Ensure all hygiene procedures comply with relevant regulations, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure all areas meet company and industry hygiene standards.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions promptly.
  1. Cleaning Operations Management
  • Oversee the cleaning of production areas, machinery, equipment, and facilities according to established schedules and standards.
  • Ensure the proper use, storage, and maintenance of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities and ensure accurate documentation is available for audits and inspections.
  1. Health and Safety
  • Promote and enforce adherence to workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure the implementation of safe working practices.
  • Respond to hygiene-related incidents and ensure swift resolution.
  1. Stock and Consumables Management
  • Monitor and manage hygiene-related inventory, including cleaning products, equipment, and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Assist in Consumable Budgeting for hygiene operations, ensuring cost efficiency and cleaning efficacy without compromising standards.
  1. Communication and Collaboration
  • Collaborate with other departments, including production and quality assurance, to maintain a seamless operational flow.
  • Report hygiene performance metrics and provide updates to management regularly.
  • Act as a key contact for hygiene-related inquiries, audits, and inspections.
