This position is critical to the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our Hypercharge™ Drive systems - advanced units designed to load blast holes with explosive chemicals in underground mining environments.As a Hypercharge™ Drive Technician, you’ll apply your auto electrical expertise and mechanical aptitude to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair cutting-edge equipment. You’ll work across multiple sites on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth, supporting operations during breakdowns and emergency call-outs, and ensuring our systems deliver maximum safety and reliability. Comprehensive training on Orica’s Hypercharge™ MaxiLoader™ units will be provided to suitable candidates.What you will be doing Operate and maintain Hypercharge™ equipment to meet safety, quality, and productivity targets; Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues; Provide responsive onsite and phone support for breakdowns and emergency call-outs; Collaborate with site leadership and engineering teams to implement reliability strategies; Ensure compliance with Orica’s safety protocols and regulatory standards; Maintain accurate records of equipment performance and team activities; Support onboarding and training of new team members. What you will bring Minimum 2 years’ experience in mobile and/or fixed plant maintenance; Auto electrical or electrical trade qualification (Advantageous); Knowledge of hydraulic systems (Advantageous); Experience working in underground mining environments with strong mechanical aptitude; Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and manage competing priorities; Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills; Familiarity with Orica systems and safety frameworks (Advantageous); Willingness to travel and work across diverse operational environments.
