DESCRIPTION

Yü Smart is a Metering Equipment Manager within the Energy Sector delivering one- stop installation services for all metering systems as well as debt management and client specific services.
Reporting to the Head of Technical Services you will be delivering Yu smarts enhanced services to the electricity metering portfolio. You will ensure the smooth and effective upskilling, constantly improving the quality and knowledge base of all our Yü Smart field operatives.
Focus will be on upskilling of our smart meter installers and ensuring Yü Group high industry standards are maintained.
As a I & C electrical metering professional, you will play a critical role in enhancing the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of our field engineers providing in-field coaching and remote technical support.
Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing effective large power installation procedures and skill sets. Along with initiatives that align with the organisation’s goals and support the growth and development of its employees.
The successful applicant will have good understanding and the desire to upskill as required, to become an expert in their field. This will include electrical metering systems across, WC, CT and CT/VT.
The role will involve you working closely with all departments in the business and having regular meetings with exposure to senior management.
The role will include developing in-house training packages /lesson plans for upskilling and maintenance of field operative skill sets and proven installation practices.
Working with external providers performing due diligence audits and suitability assessments of these providers, delivering incentre and field training packages, maintaining and advancing field operatives skill sets.
The role is Electrical bias, but the successful candidate will be required to have or attain basic Gas meter knowledge to support the whole technical services team.

RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

• Smart Metering (Dual Fuel) Experience
• Industry Qualifications:
• Certificate in Power (Logic or equivalent)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• UK Driving Licence
• Pass a colour blindness test
• Pass a DBS check

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Deliver practical hands-on training sessions for new starters and existing team members to a high standard.
• Ensuring course materials are kept up to date with Yü Smart and Industry standards.
• Managing pre and post course administration, attendance registers, certificates etc.
• Prepare and execute course evaluations, review, and share feedback with operatives and managers.
• Deliver theory-based training sessions referring to training manuals, PowerPoint presentations, publications, workbooks and technical bulletins.
• Assess the learner’s competence via Formative and summative practical assessments.
• Offer feedback to the learner.
• Maintain an accurate, up to date record of activities.
• Raising purchase orders and booking hotels when applicable for new starters
• Support the learning needs of new engineers
• Office administration including taking photos of new starters for ID cards, getting quotes etc.
• Monitoring accreditations per individual and coordinating training and providers of this training.
