Description
Description The I & E Technician is responsible for performing maintenance on controls, programmable logic controller systems, electrical equipment, distribution systems and instrumentation equipment. This position is also responsible for assisting the Controls Engineer with instrument configurations. See below for additional details regarding this position: · Remain current on the requirements of the QMS and ensure that your actions support the Trecora Quality Policy towards continual improvement. · Troubleshoot, install, rebuild, revise, inspect, and perform routine and preventive maintenance on DCS, instrumentation and electrical systems and equipment. · Perform calibrations and documentation on various types of LT, PT, MFM, and TI transmitters, and test equipment as required. · Repairs to be made OEM specifications/ industry standards or notify supervisor and document if made otherwise. · Make suggestions for reliability and best operating procedures. · Monitor and maintain critical spare part inventory. · Assist other crafts as required. · Proficient use of related hand and power tools. · Work safely and abide by all safety policies and practices. · Observe all safety policies and procedures. Participate in plant safety processes and immediately report any unsafe conditions. · Other duties as assigned. Requirements · High school diploma or general education degree (GED). · An Associate's degree or certificate in instrumentation, electronics or a related field of study is strongly preferred. · Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably a Petrochemical or Chemical Plant). · At least three to five years of experience as an I&E Technician is preferred; experience as a chemical operator may count for some of this experience. · Forklift certification or ability to be certified required. · Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision. · Familiarity with DCS systems, PLCs and process control fundamentals is required.
