Description Validus Energy is seeking an I&E (Instrumentation and Electrical) Technician who is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. They work with equipment that monitors and controls various parameters like temperature, pressure, flow, and level in facilities such as pipelines and compressor stations. Responsibilities Installation and Maintenance: Installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnosing and resolving issues with equipment, including both minor and major repairs. Calibration and Testing: Calibrating and testing instruments and control systems to ensure accuracy and proper operation. Preventive Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures. Working with Diagrams and Schematics: Interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and other technical documents to understand equipment operation and troubleshoot problems. Working with Test Equipment: Operating and maintaining various test equipment to diagnose and repair electrical and instrumentation systems. Safety and Environmental Compliance: Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards. Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Communication and Collaboration: Communicating effectively with other team members, supervisors, and contractors. Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry required, with a focus on measurement systems and program management, minimum of 5 years I&E experience preferred. Experience and ability to maintain motor controls, relay logic, RTUs and I&E associated end-devices. Demonstrated understanding of the National Electric Code and OSHA 1910 as it relates to electrical systems. Preferred Experience: Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC’s Knowledge of Low voltage Drives and drive operations Knowledge of ABB and Emerson devices for liquid and gas measurement Certifications: Technical certification in instrumentation or electrical systems, preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to tolerate prolonged shifts involving standing, climbing, lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying weights of up to 50 lbs. Work in and around industrial and construction settings, which may include hazardous products, processes, materials and chemicals, including H2S, as well as prolonged exposure to outdoor work conditions, including extreme cold, hot and/or adverse weather conditions, and loud machinery, and may require appropriate personal protective equipment. Must possess a current, valid driver’s license and the ability to meet and maintain all eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicle. Subject to call-outs to respond to operational issues and emergencies after working hours, at night, and on weekends and holidays. The qualified candidate must be authorized to work in the United States and not require company sponsorship.
