SUMMARY

The IT Technician provides technical software, hardware and network problem resolution to all computer users by performing question/problem diagnosis and guiding users through step-by step solutions in a call center environment; clearly communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner; provide one-on-one end-user training as needed; assist Lead IT Technician, Systems Analysts; troubleshoot network printer problems; pass more complex end-user problems on to Lead Technicians, System Administration & Systems Analyst; conduct hardware and software inventory database maintenance and reporting; and perform related work as required.
Individuals in this position are responsible for adhering to and supporting the standards, procedures, policies, protocols and objectives supplied by Community First Medical Center.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
At least 1 year college level course work in computer related field
2-4 years installing, upgrading, troubleshooting and repairing personal computers in a network environment

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Knowledge of PC and server operating systems including Windows 2008, 2010, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Active Directory and Domains, Microsoft DNS, Microsoft Office.
  • Thorough knowledge of computer fundamentals and peripheral and software operations including word processing, spreadsheets, database management, system management software and development tools.
  • Ability to demonstrate skill in the use and repair of computer equipment and software.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Understand and apply complex technical information

  • Maintain cooperative & professional working relationships
    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
    MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) or equivalen
Responsibilities
  • Provide daily Level 1 & 2 support for various infrastructure / desktop support systems.
  • Perform hands-on technical upgrades and deployments.
  • Assembles and installs PC hardware, investigates and resolves routine hardware problems
  • Maintains responsibility for proper spare part and loaner inventory
  • Assists with the tracking of IT assets and licenses within the assigned facility and associated other sites.
  • Provides one-on-one end-user problem resolution over the phone for Vendor supported equipment
  • Document and train others on IT systems and best practice procedures.
  • Update tracking software with problem statuses and resolutions per defined guidelines
  • Maintain software-testing environment for new security patches, Windows updates, etc.
  • Shares in the on call/call-back rotation covering evenings, nights and weekends.
  • Remains current with knowledge of desktop technologies and seeks to improve technical skill set
  • Position requires driving to support satellite or other campuses as part of job responsibilities.
  • Applies and maintains a working knowledge of Information Technology and facility policies and procedures as they relate to the Lead IT Technician responsibility
